The Giving Back Concept: Innovative Cricket Boundary Wedge That Will Boost Your Brand & Revenue!
Invented & Designed By: Wikus van Rensburg
Co-Manufactured By: ZWAANZ/ Sports Dynamix

The Giving Back Concept: An innovative digital cricket boundary wedge design that will give you unique stadium and television marketability, as well as generate revenue through its clever technology initiatives.
We first had the corrugated cardboard cricket boundary wedge for advertising within cricket stadiums, which are still used in a few developing countries. This has progressed to the more commonly known foam cricket boundary wedge that offer advertising and greater safety to players on the field.
Now we have the new generation foam cricket boundary wedge that has digital components enclosed, allowing for a more interactive experience for the cricketing audience at the stadiums and at home – A cricket boundary wedge that makes the game even more exciting to watch (and play), further BOOSTS sponsorship branding and generates revenue of which a portion will be donated to a pre-selected charity.
Introduction
Why?
For the love of the game: A new dimension of active participation in the game of cricket for the crowd and viewers to make this highly entertaining sport, even more spectator friendly and that will change the ‘face’ of the cricket fraternity.
Sport, like music, is a powerful marketing tool to harness the passion of millions of fans all over the world and a significant opportunity exists for sponsors to engage consumers on a “one on one” basis and to inter-act in a personalized environment.
The aim of this concept is to give back to loyal, passionate viewers and spectators and at the same time, to raise awareness for those in need and to contribute toward their plight. Watching cricket will never be the same!
The Concept
A percentage of the boundary wedges are strategically placed and “rigged”. The batsman hits a four onto the sponsored wedge and it flashes. The batsman gets an incentive for chasing or scoring runs. The sponsor contributes towards a charity or organisation previously determined. A proven SMS platform is in place for the spectators and viewers to participate in a competition regarding the specific wedges, the game of cricket and the chance to “donate” a percentage to charitable causes…
