WHAT ARE RUGBY POST/ POLE PROTECTORS?
Rugby post/ pole protectors usually come in a set of four, per rugby field, and are normally at heights of 1.5m (Junior), 1.6m (Youth), 1.8m (Senior), 2m (Pro).
WHAT IS THE PURPOSE (FUNCTION) OF RUGBY POST/ POLE PROTECTORS?
Rugby post/ pole protectors help to minimize, and hopefully eradicate injury of a rugby player/s if and when they come into contact with the rugby post/ pole during rugby practice/ training and/or matches.
Besides the primary function of the health and safety of players, rugby post/ pole protectors also provide an ideal brand marketing opportunity for sponsors and/or the sporting fraternity concerned.
HOW ARE THEY MADE?
Rugby post/ pole protectors may have varying foam densities – The foam in constructed with a post/ pole cavity (hole) through the center of the foam structure and is normally covered by a PVC Tarpaulin or Canvatec Material. These are usually rectangular in shape, but there are hexagon options for senior/ professional level rugby. Hexagon rugby post/ pole protectors are normally manufactured at a higher cost due to the additional cutting and shaping of the foam and covers.
The covers can either be left plain (*No print) or can be custom-branded (*Printed) with a sponsor or school/ club/ university or sporting institutes branding/ logos… Or even a combination of brands/ logos.
CAN I CUSTOM BRAND OUR RUGBY POST PROTECTORS?
Yes, there are various options for customised branding/ print.
WHAT ARE MY BRANDING/ PRINT OPTIONS?
Silk/ Screen printing can be done up to three colours, may be more, but up to a limit of three colours is what is normally considered feasible. Whereas more than three colours may make the digital print option more attractive. Silk/ Screen printing is normally branding/ logos printed on a standard PVC Tarpaulin cover (*Background colour). For silk/ screen printing, screens or positives need to be developed, which may add a fair bit to your initial printing cost – However, this is a ‘once-off cost’ (*per screen/ positive size) and thereafter, if utilized often, screen printing will become very cost effective.
Digital printing is normally used for full-colour printing of the rugby post/ pole covers, where branding/ logo prints are more complicated – No screen/ positives are required for this method of print. For pantone specific brands/ logos and cover background colours, we usually print the full-colour digital print onto a white PVC Tarpaulin cover to the exact pantone colour-codes/ specs provided by the client.
Canvatec material printing allows for a larger range of colour options and design features such as faded effects, watermarks, amongst others. Canvetec also provides a number of additional benefits over the older PVC Tarpaulin technology, as per the link below.
On occasion where time constraints or production capacity may be limited, Heat-Labeling solutions, amongst other print options may be provided.
